E-ZPass On-the-Go Tags Now Available at AAA Offices

Not interested in receiving a bill from the DMV every time you drive through the state’s new cashless tolling system? AAA has you covered with E-ZPass On-the-Go tags!

With the New York State Thruway converting state toll booths into a cash-free system this year, E-ZPass remains the go-to option for quick, automatic payments for travelers.

New York E-ZPass customers also receive a discount on Thruway tolls and other discounts focused on motorist’s needs. Cashless facilities are now operating at the Grand Island Bridges in Western New York, and the Thruway’s fixed-price barriers in the lower Hudson Valley region, including the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

E-ZPass On-the-Go tags are available at your local AAA Travel Store for $25. Most AAA locations offer a discount on the tag for AAA members. When you register your tag online or over the phone, the $25 becomes your prepaid toll balance.

I called Penfield AAA office to ask if I needed to make appt to come in for an EZ pass tag. The girl named, I believe Carley said she needed to transfer me to Premier membership office to handle. Put on hold for 5 minutes then Carley came back on said very busy she would sign me up. Gave her membership number and she noticed I am Premier member and they needed to handle. All the while telling me I can order over phone and tag would be mailed to me. Now waited again for seemed like 39 minutes and Din came online. Asked to help so told him I wanted to order EZ Pass tag, He said I could pick up tag at Greece office and I repeated what Carley said about ordering over phone as I have a back injury and then hone would be best for me. On hold again then came back and said Penfield is closed and opens June 15 and out of tags!! Unbelievable treatment instead of just saying come to office and pick up from beginning! WOW ? Worst customers service!! Sorry been member for years and this takes the cake.

I stopped by at the Williamsville Office last January (ie, before any "Pandemic" excuses) and experienced unbelievable service so unbecoming of service reps there not just to me as a Premier member for 38 years, but also as a basic human being.

I sincerely was convinced, especially after another Caucasian member there later affirmed to me outside this office, that most staff at his office resent members of a darker hue. Indeed, numerous follow-up calls to the insurance agents at his office failed to produce return calls, leave alone the assured service. This merely mimicked the intake reps and other associates at this office -- perhaps permanently blemishing the century long service allegedly awaiting motorists.
