AAA Offices Begin Reopening With New Safety Measures
AAA Offices Begin Reopening With New Safety Measures

As a membership organization serving this community for 120 years, AAA Western and Central New York is committed to providing you the reliable service that you expect from us without interruption.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic, our associates have gone above and beyond to assist members to rearrange their travel plans, update their insurance policies, and get their cars going again when they needed it most. This is, and always has been, our promise to you.
Our AAA offices are now open to serve you in person.
- Please check for the most current operating hours by going to AAA.com or by calling us at (800) 836-2582 to make sure we are open before visiting.
- If you work with a specific travel or insurance agent, please contact them directly to confirm their hours and availability.
- REMINDER: E-ZPass Tags are available at AAA offices and are recommended for cashless tolling and contactless payment on the New York State Thruway. Find out more here.
The safety of our Associates and our Members is our top priority.
Here’s what you can expect when you visit our Travel & Insurance Centers:
- If you feel sick, please do not visit our offices.
- Please bring, and wear, a face covering, and always maintain six feet of social distancing.
- We ask that you limit the number of people in your party to two adults. If possible, please leave children at home to protect the health and safety of your family.
- Prearranged appointments are highly encouraged.
- Waiting room space will be limited. If a short wait time is necessary, we may ask you to wait in your vehicle after checking in.
- Although we will accept cash, credit card payments are preferred.
- Restrooms will not be open to the public.
- Please understand that we are all in this together. If someone becomes ill, we may choose to close an office on short notice in the best interest of our associates and members.
Virtual appointments are still available.
- We are happy to assist you by phone or email at any time if you don’t feel comfortable coming to our offices. All transactions can be completed virtually.
- You can book a meeting with one of our agents by visiting AAA.com/Locations.
An important reminder for those who had to change their travel plans:
- AAA anticipates pent-up demand as travelers emerge to rebook vacations, plan road trips, obtain maps and restart their everyday lives, so appointments are highly encouraged.
- Members should begin planning future travel now, rather than later, for the most options, best availability and the lowest price point.
As always, I thank you sincerely for your loyal membership. I am confident that we can and will navigate this road ahead together, and I look forward to seeing you in one of our branches very soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding of these changes. Stay up to date by following AAA Western and Central New York of Facebook and visiting AAA.com.

Offices
I am extremely disappointed the AAA has no consideration for their customers that live in the western New York area west of Syracuse or north of Syracuse you closed all the offices that were convenient for us to use and now you’re opening the one in DeWitt because of the wealthy clients you have in that area I am considering not renewing my AAA I am disgusted with the lack of local service
Hi Betty- Thank you for…
Hi Betty- Thank you for sharing your feedback. AAA is always evaluating our Travel & Insurance center locations with the goal of maximizing service to our members while being careful stewards of how membership dues are allocated. In some locations, as in the case of Cicero, a travel and insurance center is not economically viable. Please be assured, however, AAA members in your region still have access to all of their membership benefits through channels that have been successfully tried and tested by thousands of members. Please feel free to contact us anytime at 1-800-836-2582 or visit us at AAA.com for assistance with any of your AAA membership benefits.

E-ZPass On-the-Go tags are available at your local AAA Travel Store for $25. Most AAA locations offer a discount on the tag for AAA members. When you register your tag online or over the phone, the $25 becomes your prepaid toll balance.
I hope this answers your questions!

Event Bright running of your seminar today
I spent over 30 minutes trying to get on the seminar. It kept telling me to get Microsoft tools and then didn't advance. I have participated in many online meetings and seminars since the advent of the pandemic. All of which where very easy to access: WebEx, Zoom, Go to Meeting. etc. Your program was ridiculous.
Dear Kathleen, I…
Dear Kathleen,
I apologize for the inconvenience with accessing our online seminars. If you let me know which one specifically you were trying to access, I can send you the recorded version of it! I hope this helps.

AAA Travel & Insurance Centers across Northern New York
Glad to read that AAA is reopening Travel & Insurance Office across NYS. I do hope that consideration is given to reopening an office in NNY. We live in Massena, NY and we used to have a office in Ogdensburg, NY (35 miles away) which we used directly both in person and through our local travel agencies. When that office was closed, we visited the Watertown office (100 miles away) which is now also closed. I feel far more comfortable meeting and dealing with localized travel agents versus online remote offices. As for insurance, not having access to at least a relatively local agent is a total deal breaker for me. Multiple insurance agents exist locally from several major Auto/Home/Life insurance companies (State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, Traveler’s, Progressive, Farmer’s, Greco, and others), Not having a local insurance agent lead myself and I’m sure other potential customers to believe AAA Insurance is not truly offering full local support and customer service. Thanks for your consideration.
Thanks for sharing your…
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We recognize that our members enjoy utilizing their AAA membership benefits at a local travel and insurance center. Unfortunately though, a travel and insurance center in Ogdensburg was not economically viable. Please be assured, however, we’re working diligently to ensure a safe reopening for all of our current Travel & Insurance Centers, including our Watertown location. Until then, please feel free to contact us anytime at 1-800-836-2582 or visit us at AAA.com for assistance with any of your AAA membership benefits.
Hi Paul- Thanks for your…
Hi Paul- Thanks for your feedback. AAA have not issued a refund or reduced rates due to the Covid-19 situation as we continue to support all of our members through this situation. Our fleet and contractors are responding to thousands of emergency road service calls every day and our travel agents continue to work around the clock assisting members with cancelled or postponed travel plans. In addition, all of our members continue to have access to our other benefits like free TripTiks, Maps, and Tourbooks or our AAA Discounts & Rewards program by visiting AAA.com or calling us at 1-800-836-2582.

As the region moves forward with its reopening plans, our management team will continue to review our policies and procedures and make any changes necessary to help ensure the comfort and safety of our associates and our members.
Accomodations
Your restrooms need to be open as before. You can sanitize the restroom a couple of times a day.

Hi Gilda,
Thank you for reaching out and expressing your concerns. As the region moves forward with its reopening plans, our management team will continue to review our policies and procedures and make any changes necessary to help ensure the comfort and safety of our associates and our members.
Your policy that "restrooms will not be open to the public"
To not allow a member/customer to use the bathroom during an office visit is poor customer relations. As an entity which interacts with the public , such a restrictive policy could be a concern for older members or for a parent who may out of necessity have to bring a child. Signs should be posted for washing one's hands, asking for the public's cooperation in maintaining a clean facility, etc. I don't see why an occasional AAA member needing to use your facility would cause such a health concern.

Appreciative tour director
Dear Tony and AAA leadership:
I am one of the many tour directors missing our favorite work. (I'm the GreatGardenTravel lady, reporting to the Amherst office and Michelle Putnam. We had to cancel a lot of day tours, 5-day tours, and group tours!) Just writing to say that the team's handling of this, and my experience with Michelle, Gina, Regina, and Veronica--has been excellent. I appreciate the pressure that everyone has been under, and I'm glad to be associated with you. Sally Cunningham
