Today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.87 per gallon, which is one cent more than last week, the same as a month ago, and 52 cents more than last year. Gas prices increased slightly following new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) that showed gasoline demand registered at a near record-high. Tighter supplies have driven the pump price up around the country over the past week. If demand remains robust amid dwindling stocks, motorists are likely to see pump prices continue to increase throughout the summer.
