Today’s national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.84, which is down four cents from last week. One year ago, the price was $2.28. The New York State average is $3.00, which is down one cent from last week. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.43. AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) reports the following averages:

  • Batavia - $2.96 (down 1 cent since last week)
  • Buffalo - $3.00 (no change since last week)
  • Ithaca - $2.91 (no change since last week)
  • Rochester - $2.94 (down 2 cents since last week)
  • Rome - $2.97 (no change since last week)
  • Syracuse - $2.90 (down 2 cents since last week)
  • Watertown - $3.05 (down 1 cent since last week)

The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.84 per gallon, which is four cents less than last week, two cents less than a month ago, and 56 cents more than last year. Gas prices have slid in recent days amid a decline in exports. On the week, U.S. exports of gasoline fell by 452,000 barrels per day. If demand for exports continues to fall and U.S. inventory remains robust and domestic demand stabilizes, drivers may see continued relief at the pump next week.

Motorists can always find current gas prices along their route with the free AAA Mobile app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. The app can also be used to map a route, find discounts, book a hotel, and access AAA roadside assistance. Locate gas prices across the country at http://gasprices.aaa.com.
