Today’s national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.53, which is the same as one week ago. One year ago, the price was $2.30. The New York State average is $2.69, down two cents from last week. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.44.
AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) reports the following averages:
- Batavia - $2.66 (down 1 cent in past week)
- Buffalo - $2.67 (no change in past week)
- Ithaca - $2.66 (down 1 cent in past week)
- Rochester - $2.64 (down 2 cents in past week)
- Rome - $2.71 (no change in past week)
- Syracuse - $2.61 (down 2 cents in past week)
- Watertown - $2.71 (down 2 cents in past week)
Today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.53 per gallon, which is seven cents less than a month ago, and 23 cents more than last year. For one week, the national average has held firm at $2.53. The flat price has been supported by increased gasoline output that has kept pace with higher than usual demand this winter. With spring a few weeks away, demand is likely to continue growing as drivers see pump prices climb with the advent of warmer weather.
