AAA Offers Online Driver Training Program
AAA Offers Online Driver Training Program

AAA Western and Central New York’s Licensed to Learn (LTL) Program, which includes both in-classroom and in-car driving instruction for new drivers, is now available online! Instead of 10 physical classroom sessions spanning 30 hours, students have the convenience of completing 25 of the 30 classroom hours online. The 5-hour pre-licensing course is the only classroom session that needs to be completed in person. Both online and in-person LTL programs also include an in-car driving instruction component.
The online option is available in the same areas as in-car driving lessons (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse).
In the NEW online class, the 30 hours of materials include:
- 19 hours of online instruction
- A 6-hour online defensive driving course
- The 5-hour pre-licensing course in a classroom
Also included in BOTH the online and in-person LTL Programs:
- 10 one-on-one driving lessons with a state-licensed AAA driving instructor
- Certificate for point and insurance reduction
- FREE 1-year AAA Basic® Membership
- 5-hour pre-licensing course (MV-278) certificate
Teenage LTL drivers ages 16 and 17 have a 62 percent lower accident rate in New York State. All AAA Driver Training instructors are New York State DMV-certified and receive 33% more training than is mandated to assure the quality and effectiveness of instruction.
