Shining Diamonds In WNY & CNY

Hotels and restaurants that earn the AAA Five Diamond Rating tend to attract a lot of attention, since the designation means they offer world-class service and the ultimate in luxury.
But whether it be one Diamond or five, receiving any AAA rating means a hotel or restaurant has met the rigorous standards for cleanliness, comfort and hospitality to pass an on-site inspection. The vast majority of the 59,000 AAA Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants —90 percent of hotels and 97 percent of restaurants—are rated One, Two or Three Diamonds. Many of these offer truly notable experiences and surroundings.
Now, there’s a new way for travelers to sort through the many available options. A “Best Of” designation highlights the top selections within each Diamond Rating level: those with overall ratings in the top 20 percent for their Diamond Rating level, plus no member complaints in the past 12 months and, for hotels only, A Rated cleanliness and condition. Just 7 percent of the AAA Inspected & Approved hotels and restaurants have earned the “Best Of” label.
“It’s a great accomplishment for any property to be listed as AAA Inspected & Approved, especially at the One, Two and Three Diamond levels as they are the most popular establishments frequented by AAA members,” said Michael Petrone, director, AAA Inspections and Diamond Ratings. “The new ‘Best Of’ designation is another tool to help travelers choose well-matched places to stay and dine at any rating level.”
