AAA Western and Central New York is expanding roadside assistance to include bicycles for its members. Effective July 1, 2017, transportation service will be provided for members when their bicycle is disabled or inoperable, with no increase in membership dues. A service vehicle will meet you at a trail head or on a publicly-traveled road and transport you and your bike to the location of your choice. Service vehicles will not be equipped to repair a member’s bicycle or change a flat tire.

"Cyclists deserve the same AAA dependable service and peace of mind that drivers have come to trust over the past century."

Here are the details about AAA Western and Central New York's new bicycle assistance benefit:

• Transportation service will be provided for you and your bicycle when it has become disabled or inoperable and can be reached from a normally traveled road by our AAA service vehicle. If you are on a bike path, trail or other restricted pathway the AAA service vehicle will meet you at the closest point of entry for motor vehicles.
• We'll take you and your bicycle to the location of you choice according to the regular automotive towing distance included with your membership.
• Any additional mileage is at the member's expense and due at the time of service. 
• Bicycle repairs and tire changes are not available.
• Your annual four-call allotment can be used for both vehicle and bicycle towing.
• Members should be with the bicycle at time of service.
